Was this guy in my college class liking me but didn't want to? He seemed to go back and forth between me and this other lady in class. He was so nice to me and kind of trying to convince himself the other girl was more his type but why make comparisons if he was not into me?

Then he began turning on me, being really mean, he didn't do this to any other girl in there. Then towards the end of the semester got real nice to me again, told me he will be "missing" people now that it's the end of the semester, went out of his way a few times to talk to me and stare at my legs in leggings.

Was this guy into me but felt intimidated or didn't want to like me but did? I am so confused. Other wise he would had just acted neutral the whole time, right? But instead went from one extreme to another?? Guys are so confusing.

We aren't psychic. We go by what people write. Did it occur to you that women are confusing to many men? He sounds very confused, but so do you. You don't even say if you liked him or not. Maybe he was trying to get CLUES from all of you.

The early stages of getting to know people is by a constant back of forth of such little clues of like and dislike. Smiles, frowns, agreeing, disagreeing, a light touch, an extra effort to say a compliment or even something pleasant about class or a movie or a book or music... that goes back and forth. If you are just waiting for men to blurt something out about liking you, you are going to have a tough time.

Ask him why he does what he does over coffee. Assuming, and presuming is confusing.

If you do like him, ask him out on a date. Simple as that. You are shy but you are also an adult. How you suggest you really find out other than asking him?

The man I most loved was very shy but made an effort to be friendly. That's a winning combination.
No reason a shy woman can't make the same effort.
