help! I ordered the valve kit but there is nothing that looks like it I can't get past the white cement thing in the hub

The "cement" thing is Ceramic not cement. I do not understand why you need to replace the valve when the only thing broken is the handle. Can you give more detail? Thanks

I have a silly question to this question... Why is it a remote valve when it is the only valve in the faucet?

That's not a silly question. Only thing I can think of is that it is a valve that is "remote" because it is not all one piece (spout/valve) but can be located anywhere near the sink and hooks to the spout by flexible hose connectors?

I suppose it could then be considered "remote".
Me thinks the term "remote" is a marketing ploy though!

Exactly, Lee... the "remote valve body" is away from the spout and connects to the spout under the sink via hoses.

Most people just call it the valve, but this manufacturer called it a "remote valve" and Alanna followed so I just continued using the term to keep from confusing anyone!

I thought so. Next thing you know they will have an actual remove control for the valve. Already have them for showers. How lazy can we make people? Im sure we will see the answer to that in the upcoming years.

I really do enjoy seeing all the new technologies out there, but some days I feel like I was born a century to late. Like when you had to actually put hands directly on anything you wanted to do, and if it didn't make you sweat you just were not doing it right! In many ways, I still work this way. Like I said, maybe I was born in the wrong era. One of my silly sayings is: if I don't bleed at least once a day, Im just not working hard enough. Some will call it careless, others will call it DIGGING IN!

Changes in terminology:

The grounding switch under the seat of a riding mower (the one to kill the engine if you fall off) use to be called a seat switch, is now called an operational presence switch.

Don't even get me started on how names of things have changed. Trying to find a part by name in a parts breakdown sheet can be infuriating at best.
