House outside tap diagram including connecting plumbing
Prior to the tap itself is a collar with the spout on the bottom, it appears? To be 2 piece, mine is leaking around that seal?

    Thanks

Holy Cow is right. How about a picture. Outside taps are usually connected to a 1/2 IP fitting at the face of the house. Is this a freeze proof tap? Large plastic handle? Those are usually connected about 6-8" inside the house.

    Hi HCM

It sounds like the vacuum breaker seal is damaged on your anti.-freeze outside faucet. If this is the case, take a picture of the part/outside faucet and bring it to a local plumbing supply store... see if they have the correct replacement vacuum breaker float, cap & body assembly. Otherwise, if the part is simply not to be found in your area for some reason, you'll need to find it online OR replace the entire outside faucet with a new one.
