    What size circuit breakers and wire size do I need for the following air conditioner
    What size circuit breakers and wire size do I need for the following air conditioner 5 tonn condesor unit with following data plate information... volts 208 - 230, volts range 197 - 253, max circuit breaker 50 amp. The wire run one way will be 15ft.

    2 #6's, for hots, a #10 for ground, and I usually pull a couple of control wires for the Low Voltage, I usually pull a Pair of #12's THHN because its what I carry and meets code.
    You will need a disconnect at the unit.
    And a 50 Amp 2 pole breaker.

    That's what I thought, some suggestions I received said I could go with 8 or even 10 gauge wire but I wasn't comfortable with that higher gauge as well as being able to pass local code.
    BTW…I'm using a 60amp disconnect
