I helped a friend by letting him stay at my house for the short term when he got evicted from his place. He has now been here for 5 months and I want him out. He has never given me money for rent. I have also provided transportation for him to get to and from work. He has put gas in car maybe 6 times and has bought a few groceries. How do I get him out now?

You follow the same procedure that you would follow if he were your tenant. You give him a written notice that his tenancy is terminated and he must move out within 30 days. If he doesn't move out within that time then you follow up with a 5 day unlawful detainer notice. After the 5 days you file a lawsuit for eviction.
