    Older cub cadet w/ new battery won't start/turnover. Any hint?

    Check to see if the 12vdc is reaching the starter motor. If not I'd suspect a bad ignition switch. Try momentarily connecting 12 vdc to the starter contacts but include an in-line fuse in case the starter is shorted.

    The safety switches are a more likley culprit if the battery has voltage. They are designed so as to not allow the engine to crank. Ignotion switch as ballenger said should be checked if all else is fine.

    Good thinking too about the safety. I"forgot" one spring when I tried to start my tractor. You must be seated on my to crank the engine. I stared at it for about 5 minutes before my brain came alive.
