Not paid on time - is that legal?
I turned in my timecard while my boss was on vacation. In following up, the company president told me that he is holding the timecard until she returns and reviews it and they will pay me then. I work remotely and our agreement is that I am on auto deposit and get my checks deposited 1 week after the end of the pay period. She will not return from vacation until 4 days after my check is due to be direct deposited into my account. So I will be paid almost 1 week late. Is that legal?

Probably not. ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

You are required under federal law to be paid for time worked. And you have to be paid according to the established pay schedule.

However, is this worth making a stink about? Since the company president made this decision, your only recourse is to go to the state dept of labor. And if you do, it may ultimately result in loss of job.
