Looking for help with the Honeywell Chronotherm IV Plus Thermostat
This morning I woke to a warm downstairs area. I walked over to the thermostat and noticed the display was blank. After various Internet searches and locating the User manual for this model, I found this website. The user manual troubleshooting guide addresses six (6) possible symptoms and the remedy to the problem. I've ruled out 1) checking if the thermostat is mounted and latched, 2) checking if the circuit breaker was tripped, and 5) checking the wiring between the thermostat and HVAC equipment. The 3rd & 6th symptoms, 3) checking if the fuse is blown--replace the fuse, and 6) If 24 Vac is present, proceed with troubleshooting cannot be resolved because I don't know where the fuse is located on the thermostat nor do I understand what 24 Vac is present, proceed w/troubleshooting means. Can you help me?

Fuse is located on the control board or on the transformer, usually located on the air handler with the on/ off switch. In order to check 24VAC, you will need a multi tester, also known as a VOM.. Know how to use one? Does this tstat have a battery?

Thanks for your help! The tstat does not have batteries and will use the VOM on the 24VAC area. Thanks again!
