    Abortion
Assalamu alaikum, my wife just discovered she is pregnant, a month old baby. She strongly believes she has to undergo an abortion because of her health. She believes she cannot cater/support the child in herself. She has been sick for about two months now of pnemonia, malaria, and respiratory system infection, and as such has rendered her weak and lost a lot of weight.
I know abortion is not allowed in islam only in severe cases, my question is: in her case, does islam permit her to have the abortion?

This is a question ONLY her doctor can advise her about.
I hope she is being treated for malaria and pneumonia.
I hope you can abstain from sex or can use birth control.
I am sure that Islam considers both lives, and there are 4 scenarios: both live, only mother lives, only baby lives, both die.

If it is about her life, abortion is allowed. Consult the doctor.

What you name may not be serious enough, to allow this, At this point, it is her opinion about her health, not a medical doctors. That is who you need to talk to
