    Ticket , ID card
So I lost my identification card a couple of months back and went to report it to the police , which gave me a paper to confirm this, anyway about a month later I got a ticket for smoking inside a club, but I still had the lost ID.. so it wasn't me.. and next week I have to go to court to tell the judge.. do you think that I will win the case?

Did you or did you not receive a ticket under the smoking law? Im not understanding how you say you reported the ID lost and then say you still had the lost ID in your possession. What gives?

Ok, in that case you bring what evidence you can as well as the police report you say you made. If you have witnesses or can get statements showing you weren't there at the time of the offence then you might win against it.

I had something similar happen to me. I lost part of my drivers license (before it was a photo ID). I reported it to DMV and was told to just fill out a form requesting a duplicate.

I later received a summons about a traffic violation. I had to drive more than 2 hours to get to the court. When my case was called, the ticketing officer was there. The judge asked if he could identify me as the driver. He said he couldn't and the case was dismissed. Took less than 5 minutes.

Agree, you use the paper from the police where you reported ID stolen, and you appear in court. *** of course if it was really YOU that was given the ticket, the officer will know you
