The running water in the kitchen has gotten slower in the last month and a half, and no as of yesterday there is nothing, or very little.

The water yesterday was still enough that you could function, I tried to turn off the water under the sink and then turn it back on but I got nothing. The water does not flow to the dishwaher either. I am really stuck on this situation. I already took off that filter thing on the sink. The house was built in 1944, so it may have the galvinzed pipes I have read about on other posts, but I am not sure where to look. Under the sink it is flexible tubing, not pipes. Anyway, I am new at the homeowner thing, and have no idea what to do other then calling a plumber on a Sunday, which I am sure would hit the pocket book really hard. Please help if at all possible.

So now we have taken apart the kitchen sink and the water will come out of each side, but it seems to be blocked, while going to the center. The funny thing is the sink was new when we bought the house only a few months ago, so I am not sure why it is clogged or how to unclog it. Let me know if you can think of a way to unclog the part where the warm and cold join.

You may want to wait for speedball to comment... but I think that a piece of crud (water deposits or rust) has become stuck in your faucet. If you can't take it apart to find the obstruction try and blow it out with compressed air or replace it. Galvanized plumbing should be easy to find. Try to look at your hot water tank. What color are the pipes going in and coming out of it??

I'm going to have to do some guessing here. Click back and correct me if I'm wrong. You have a kitchen faucet with two knobs,(not one handle) and you have removed the stems and washers. Then you turned on the water to flush out the supplies and to see if you have water up to the faucet. And you do. (how'm I doing so far? ) But now either the valve body,(crossover) or the spout is blocking the flow. Right so far? You're doing a great job of analyzing the problem. Now remove the spout and blow through the end. If you can blow through it, it's clear and the blockage is in the crossover part of the valve. Take a small stiff wire and you should be ablen to run it from one side to the other. If it's blocked pick away at it until you get it clear. My guess is that when the new faucet was installed the pipes were disturbed and some crud just broke loose and lodged up in your faucet and is now blocking it. More questions? Yes, you are right it was in the part where it all connects. The way that the faucet was actually built I could not get into it to unclog it. I was able to take it back to the store. I am not running water in the kitchen, looks like I have some dishes to do from last night now. Thanks for all of your help!
