I am 12 and I need to shave my legs! Girls in school are telling me I'm a hairy gorilla down there and I told my mom but she won't budge! All my cousins do and they are younger than me! I really feel uncomfortable wearing shorts and dresses and sometimes I sweat wearing jeans in 90 degree weather! Help please!

Did your mom give you a reason that she doesn't want you to shave your legs? I think as a mom myself, she doesn't want you to grow up but she needs to understand that if you are being made fun of at school that she should at least consider letting you do it. Try calmly talking to her again, let he know that others are teasing you about it. She can't avoid you doing it forever...

I very much doubt the girls making such comments have a clue what they are talking about.
Also at 12 it's highly unlikely that you are mature enough for the hairs to be visible.
You certainly don't NEED to shave.

You need to sit down and have a girlie chat with you mom and LISTEN to what she has to say. After all she has been through the same things.
