    Social security and Medicare taxes.
    Hi All...

Until 2006 Dec I was a Full time student and my employer deducted social security and medicare taxes while I was working as an intern.

Is there any way that I can get back that tax amount?

    Thanks
    Mahi vanka.

    Mahi:

First, ask the employer to refund the Social Securioty and Medicare taxes. When he says no, get the refusal in writing, preferably on company letterhead.

Then file Form 843 with the refusal letter and the support documents listed on page 46 of IRS Pub 519.
