Rough in is 8 1/2". Can I use an old fashioned tank high up on wall and toilet on floor for this mistake? Floor is poured concrete.

    Hi PB

I know of only two manufacturers that make 8.5" - 9" rough in toilets and they are NOT cheap:

    1) Duravit

    2) Toto

Check out this link for more on duravit:

Duravit D1402300 Happy D 2-Piece Floor Standing Toilet, Alpine White at PlumberSurplus.com

I'll leave you to link up on the Toto sites... ;)

There may actually also be an, "old fashioned tank high up on wall and toilet on floor" that works for this rough in and if you put in the work and can find one that fits AND you like it then I see no mistake in choosing it and installing it at all!

Finally, with some chipping into the concrete you could install an OFFSET CLOSET FLANGE...could gain you 1.5" to 2" maximum offset which leaves you with a 10" rough in toilet and that can be found for a MUCH better price than the ones above.
