Without knowing why and what issues are going on, no one can tell you. If there is concern, then you need to consult another doctor and have them review all of the medical records and do new testing.

This is something you need to discuss with your wife's doctor. We have no idea what her medical history is, why she was prescribed this medication. If you trust this doctor then you have to trust that what he/she is doing is the right course of action. If you don't trust this doctor it's your right to seek a second opinion.
