Well, now you must wait until the baby is born and have a DNA test done.

You should tell both me that either one could be the father now so they are prepared to have the DNA test done.

It is possible that both dates are correct. There are two ways to calculate pregnancy and it's important that the patient and doctor both understand which type of date they are using.

One method begins counting on the first day of the last period. This calculates the start of pregnancy two to three weeks prior to conception. The baby is due roughly 9 months from this date.

The other method starts counting from the estimated date of conception. Of course, this starts a couple weeks later so due date is calculated about 8.5 months out from this date.

So, if you calculated 10 weeks using the first day of your last period, and your doctor figured the gestational age and estimated conception date, you could both be right within a couple of days. You should ask your doctor how they came up with the date and to provide you their best guess of your conception date range.

Calculation of conception and due dates is an inexact science and can be off a few weeks either way. So the bottom line is the time is too close to tell for sure.

The only way you will be able to confirm paternity is with DNA testing after the child is born.
