Water puddle in front yard by the faucet
I have a water puddle in front of my house by the faucet.
How do I know if I have a leak?

Make sure all the faucets are tightly shut and then go to your water meter. In the middle of the dial is a small, usually red, triangle. See if it spins. If it does, you have a leak somewhere.

Or you could simply dig the pipe up and check, You're going to hafta dig it up to repair it anyhow. Good luck, Tom

I am sorry but I am going to answer this question exactly the way it is asked.
You know you have a leak when there is a puddle of water near the faucet.

Please clarify what you mean by "faucet". Is this a yard hydrant, a hose bibb, etc? Are you on city water or a private well? If you could post a pic of the saturated area and faucet in question, it may help us give more accurate advice as to the next step for you to take.

Handyman2007, lol. That is certainly one way to know you have a leak. When there is water where it should not be, usually a leak is to blame,, yes? Seems the easy part is knowing you have a leak, the hard part is, more times than not, finding the source.
