Until now has she visited you in the US or have you visited her in Ghana?

Have you seen her legal documents - birth certificate and such?

Now I'm confused - I asked if you've seen her legal documents. You said yes. Now you are saying now.

Step #1 is to ask her to send you a COPY of legal documents. Do this before you send her any money.

She does NOT need money to obtain a visa. You can take care of all of those expenses.

You might want to check this site's missing person thread. Several people have been scammed by women in Ghana.

Ghana is famous for romance scams. I am betting this is another scam. United States citizens should be alert to attempts at fraud by persons claiming to live in Ghana who profess friendship or romantic interest over the Internet.

Has she asked you for money? DO NOT send her any!

And soon (after you send that to her -- by Western Union?) there will be problems. Her father's business burned down or her car needs extensive work on it or she has to pay lots of money to save her favorite dog from dying because of a terrible illness.

Until you have met her (YOU go to Ghana!) and know she is real and checked all her documents in person, do not send money.

It would be a regular visa. There are no categories - other than working.

I posted the costs and paperwork.
