    Soil drain line as vent
I have a 3" soil drain line coming from a WC which is just in front of the main vent stack, also 3". Can I connect the drain from 2 sinks, approx. 2" downstream of the vent stack (1" downstream from the WC) without putting in a separate vent line for them? The idea being that the section of the soil line between the WC and the sinks will act as a 'wet vent' leading to the main vent stack.

    Hi Paars

You can connect into the vertical 3" vent pipe and run the drain for the sinks from there as long as the sinks are within 3-5 feet of the vent stack. If you excedd the 5 foot distance vent to sinks, you need to add a vent and connect it back into the 3" vent stack at 42-48" off the finish floor.

    That make sense?

That makes perfect sense. Makes it a lot easier as well.

    Thanks Mark
