It has only been 18 days since unprotected sex with my significant other, but I am three days late on my period, and I am NEVER late. Is it too early to detect pregnancy, because my hpt came up negative?

Obviously it would come up negative at 3 days.

You are supposed to wait until you are 14 days late for your period to test. Earlier than that will likely give a negative... even if you are.
