    Slab Leak
I have a hot water leak in our slab floor. The plumber is blaming it on moles, before he even opens the floor. The leak is at least 6' from the edge of the house. Is this even possible.

SAY WHAT? Either your plumber's blowing smoke up your skirt or has a weird sense of humor. I have the same problem in my cold water line with old galvanized. Pipes.
You can open up the slab and repair the leak but the best way would be to disconnect the line and repipe the main around the outside of the foundation and jump into the house to supply the fixtures. Get three estimates and fire the plumber that thinks a mole can eat through a metal pipe. Good luck, Tom.

It is not metal, but that new black plastic pipe

Ahh! That's different, Same solution. Either locate and repair the pipe or disconnect and repipe. You're the very first complaint in 13 yearsof answering questions that blamed a mole. Good luck, Tom

If you talk to experienced plumber, he can trace the hot water pipe to the fixture it services and reroute that section of the pipe through the ceiling without breaking up concrete slab.

    Back to you. Milo
