    Dropped item in bathtub drain
My daughter stepped on a disposable razor breaking the razor part off it which then went down the bathtub drain. I tried to get it out with a long screwdriver which pushed it out of reach. I can't even see it down the drain. I have tried plunging the tub to get it to come up but only debris and other stuff has come up-no razor. The tub is barely draining water now. Any opinions?

Call a plumber and have it snaked. Its not going to biodegrade or disolve... and clearly its caught up on gunk and blocking the drain. CAn cauging more stuff to get caught up like hair... etc.

    Hi Angkvo

See if there is an access panel on the wall behind the tub drain. If there is an access panel then you or a plumber should be able to disassemble the tub waste and overflow assembly and remove the razor parts from the PTRAP. Here, I would use a wet vac. And suck the razor part right out of the trap.

This approach might also be used as a first line of defense as you could fill the tub with a 1/2" of water and then try sucking the razor part and water from the trap from the front of the tub. If that fails, time to gain access to the tub drain, disassemble parts and go fishin' for the razor part!

    Good luck!

Hi angkvo and welcome to The Plumbing Page at AMHD. If it was the blade part of the razor then it might not have made it past the tee in the tub waste and overflow, (see image)
If you can get to the area behind the drain and trap you can disassemble the over flow by removing the two screws on the chrome overflow plate below the spout. You may now proceed to unscrew the slip nuts and check the tee. If it isn't there then disassemble the trap and look in the bend. Good luck, Tom
