    Which 1040 form to use ?
    Hi,

    I am on H1-B visa since last two years and got married in December 2006.

    1) I am not sure which 1040 form I am suppose to use to file my taxes ?

    2) Can I claim my wife as dependent ? Is she a resident alien or non-resident alien ?

    Please advise.

    File jointly and have her choose to be treated as a resident alien for all of 2006. File W-7 with tax return to get her an ITIN.
