Hi!

I saw this movie in 90's and think it is quite old. It was shown in the afternoon and suitable for teenagers. It was about a girl whose mother was over-protecive and did not want her to use age-appropriate clothing but cover her up completely. There was this ball dance coming and she was very upset because her mother had sewn a really childish dress for her. But then her friends helped her and took her upstairs to some room and changed the ball gown completely so it was sexier and she was beautiful :)

I still have not found this movie but more details follow:

- the movie was in colour
- the prom dress that the girl wore was green and red in colour
- the landscape was with hills and pinetrees. The houses were made of wood
- time in movie somewhere around 1850
