I am a biller at a prosthetic company. I would like to be fair and reasonable with our patients. What do you think is a fair monthly payment for medical bills. Let

1000-5000
6000-10000
11000-15000
16000-20000
Any ideas lout there for you medical billers and or patients?

What? The company determines monthly payments based on what strangers on the Internet think, not what insurance allows, not profit/loss figures?

Are you talking about patients who have no insurance or Medicare coverage?

I would think if people don't have $20, then $20 is too high a monthly fee - let alone in the thousands of dollars. I don't see a blanket, one size fits all, answer.

OK this is not the message I wanted to post I had another one, but same idea.. More like

1,001-5,000
5,001-10,000
10,001-15,000
15,001-20000
Keep in mind we would like to be fair to patient as well as clinic. Do not want it to take a lot of years to pay back either.

No, I am talking about after the insurance pays and the balance that the patient has to pay. We are trying to be accommodating to patients and respect their opinions. Would think that is a good thing

I would think it would be up to the company and each patient as to repayment, taking into account insurance or Medicare coverage plus the patient's financial circumstances.

Both, some patients do not have insurance, some patients have it and after the ins pays

Indeed it is up to both us and patient. Just curious if anyone had any opinions, if they are in the same situation

yes some do, makes me sad that they have no insuarance. Prices are variable. That is why I put up a fee schedule for some ideas

I can't imagine most people would shell out thousands of dollars per month in repayment. It would be an easy-payment plan for years if they don't have insurance or Medicare. Certainly Medicaid would become a factor.

I was thinking about it, yes. I would never ask for thousands per month, just reasonable. I know thius is a hard one. Thanks for all the help though

I would give a total amount due, then suggest a percentage per month with the added suggestion that the monthly payback amount is negotiable and please call to talk with us. Certainly you work with uninsured patients regarding Medicaid and local/national charities that may be able to help.
