Hello. I have recently moved into a house that is only about 30 or so years old, with no known 'dubious' history. Since the day I moved in, when I am seated in the living room, about once every hour, I smell something very very sweet, like hot chocolate with marshmallows. The smell last for only seconds, 2 to 3 inhales at most. No one else has ever smelt this, and I have only ever smelt it in the living room. The living room double doors are always open wide onto the balcony which extends outside into the treetops, so the only smell coming in should be nature! The living room lights, which are on a dimmer switch, also occasionally (once a week or so) turn themselves either up or down. This HAS been noticed by others, but may well be an electrical fault. The smell though? I'd love to hear from anyone else who has experienced this or can shed some light. It is definitely not the smell of perfume, but chocolate and marshmallows. Thanks!

Have you noticed the dimmer switch moving position? Who all lives in the home?

How long have you lived there? There are certain groups of plants that open and close during certain periods of the day. Tulips are one and daylillys are another. Many plants are going through blooming and polination spurts at this time.
