How do I get rid of a rash on my arms?
Hi guys, I have a rash on both of my arms but only where my arms bend. It's on the outside of my arm, & it's not too big. It's very red and it hurts at times. I have had this rash for a couple of months now. I am currently using an Aveeno lotion & Aquaphor healing ointment. I actually had this "rash" when I was younger in the same spots but is was WAY worse. I'm very self confident about showing my arms because the rash is so red and like flaky and it's on the outside of my arm so everyone can see it. I'm going to my Dermitologist soon. But until then can someone please tell me how to get rid of this? Thank you so much!

Having a rash that long and recurring in the same spot as younger suggests something in the eczema/psoriasis range of conditions. We can't tell you how to treat something we can't even see. That's what being SEEN by a dermatologist is for.

There's no need to be rude about it.
And also, if you were reading it correctly then you would know that I said I'M GOING TO MY DERMATOLOGIST SOON! I just wanted to see if there's any other cream or some other product to help before I go. So maybe next time read the ENTIRE thing, and you don't need to be ride about it.

Sorry for being rude. I knew you are seeing a dermatologist soon. I get frustrated by all the people who want to know the treatment for something before they find out what the 'something' is.

If you are going to a dermatologist 'soon', why do you want us to tell you how to get rid of rash we can't see?

I can't tell what kind of rash it is because I can't see it... you need to go to the doctor to get it taken care of.

    Hope this helps.

    I'll try again.
I think you have a condition (eczema, psoriasis, impetigo) that requires a prescription.
But that is just a guess, based on the fact that you have had it before, have it in the same places for months, and no OTC topical treatments work.
It would have been helpful to tell us you are still very young.

Kristen, guess what, you don't get to say who answers or how. If you don't like what you are reading, then don't come back because you just don't get what we are saying. Got it?

Thanks, but I didn't post my age, because it's not necessary. And I'm using Aquaphor which you can buy at Target, Wal-Mart, your local grocery store, etc.. and it's actually helping me. It would be gone but since I kept iching it, it got worse.

I'm just saying, I asked a question about how to cure my rash. And then you had to say go see a dermatologist. Obviously I need to see my dermatologist! And you didn't have to be rude about saying "well we can't see it so how can we help"? And fyi just cause you can't see it, you can still help me out. Ok? Ok.

I don't think I understand what you're trying to say. Can you explain it more?

It is against our rules, Kristen, to recommend a medication for an ailment we cannot see. It is extremely difficult to do on the internet and we absolutely do not diagnose.

Saying we can't see it, is not being rude. You just don't seem to get it.

No one is being rude to you. Do you have a lot of people in your life being rude to you or something, is that the problem?

I don't understand the attitude toward the site's most respected members.

Not a good idea to bite the very hand that's trying to feed you.

Your age does matter. I'm not going to bother to tell you why because you will just continue your tirade.

Nope, but I asked a simple question and now I get a lecture.. just answer it and be done with it.

It's okay, you can tell me why it matters. My mom said NOT to post y age unless it's important. And in this case it's not important. I asked how to cure my rash. Not does anyone want to know my age. And I'm not trying to be mean. In the nicest way possible. (:

Oh, to be 15 and know everything there is to know! Note the "teenage" smiley faces following the insults.

Now I know why kids post on AMHD instead of asking their parents - the parents don't want to deal with the child.

You might want to read the AMHD rules - or have your mom read them.

Your mother knows you are on line posting about your acne, nose piercing, braces, rash? She has no answers for you?

No I have already talked to my mom.
I already went to the dermatologist about my acne. My ear pain is gone. My rash got worse but I'm going to go BACK to my dermatologist to see what is going on. And I just wanted to know some questions about braces. I have already bugged my mom for braces and she said to stop talking about it because it's getting annoying to her, and it'll happen when the time comes. I have already talked to her about all this stuff. I just want to see if other people have experienced ear pain after they got their ear pierced or had really bad acne but it went away and maybe they could tell me what the used. And by the way I didn't say anything about a nose piercing because I don't want it done. It was my cartilage sooo... yeah. And for you to say that my mom doesn't care is rude. She cares. But I just want to hear other peoples answers, is that so bad? Or...
