When will my cartilage piercing pain go away?
    Hello all,
I got my cartilage pierced 5 days ago at Piercing Pagoda (I know it was so stupid of me to get it with a gun, no need to wrote mean comments).
But the first day it didn't hurt at all and I could clean and spin it without a problem. The second day, I felt a little bit of pain/pressure. But the past 3 days it has been hurting SO bad. When I twist it and clean it I just want to cry. I don't want to take it out just yet, because the thought of the pain is just kiling me. But, I was wonderig if ANYONE could please answer my question. I can't sleep on ot because it is wayyyy to painful, I can't touch it because it hurts toooo bad, I can clean or twist it, and I can't even think about it. At times it is very very painful, and other times it's just a TON of pressure. Please answer my question if the pain will ever go away. Oh and I have been using peroxide to clean it. My right ear (which the piercing is on) is pretty red.

    Thanks so much!

I just finished reading your tirade - if anyone answers, and I doubt they will, they will be aware of what's been posted in the past and, yes, they'll have attitude.

Why would someone read my other posts and be rude about it on this post? If they wanted to be rude they'd do it on the other post?

Well I wouldn't use peroxide to clean it. Use a salt and water mixture. Or a saline solution you can get from your local drug store. I had my cartlidge pierced many moons ago. I don't recall being in that much pain. Is it swallon or red?

Thanks for the tips. I got it pierced and it didt hurt thr first day. But then it hurt like 3 days after. It doesn't hurt anymore, unless I sleep on it. But it's not red or swollen. And when it hurt it was just red.

Well that's good that it's not hurting you too much any more. I do remember when I got mine done, days later I got the flu with a high fever and all that icky stuff. I slept on my right side, which is the ear that is pierced for too long. My body was trying to fight off all the sickness and whatever else. My little stud went back into my piercing hole and skin grew over the top of the stud. You couldn't even tell I had a piercing there unless you seen the back. My mom had to take me to the Doctor. The Doctor slit my new grown skin and pushed the stud back out. My cartlidge is still pierced, but it was a scary experience.

Thanks! I'm sorry to hear about that. That's a very scary experience. I got mine done on my right side as well and that's also the side I sleep on. And when I woke up the next morning I thought that my earring was going into the hole so I pushed my earring forward, but thankfully it wasn't. When I sleep on my right side it hurts the next morning but for some reason when I take a shower it doesn't hurt anymore? But I can finally twist and clean it again.

The pain went away in the shower because the warm water and steam softened your ear and cartilage. Once the cartilage hardens again, the soreness begins.

Yeah lol I kind of figured. Because it's true. It feels better in the shower. And once it hardens it hurts.
