    Late fee
My landlord is trying to charge a bigger amount on late fees now. I have been in my house for almost 2 years and the fee has always been 50 dollars now on top of the late fee they are saying I owe 1950.00 dollars I'm only behind by 300 dollars. Is it legal for them to do that

I moved your question from here to a thread of your own.

Do you have a lease? If so, what does it say about late fees?

If not, what state or country is it in which you are located?

So ask for a itemized list of all charges. He would have to provide that in court if he sues.

Without a lease, he can change the prices, but has to give proper notice before he can do that.

I am concerned as to how many times you had to pay a "late fee" most people do not ever pay one, Has this been a concern for him ? He is asking for an extra month ahead to protect from late ?
