Sponsoring a sister with Down syndrome
    Hi all,

I'm new here. I am a naturalized US citizen. My sister is 25 years old with Down syndrome living with my parents back home. As I understand, sponsoring siblings takes a long time (10+ years?). Is there any special case for sponsoring a disabled sibling (based on humanitarian ground for example) that would take less time? Can she even be sponsored?

Thanks much in advance for your help.

This is a challenge but you won't make it unless there is no other family member left.

Thanks Lawanwadee for replying. Can you please clarify it a bit more? Did you mean when there are other family members (like my mom and dad) then I won't be able to sponsor my sister? Only if I'm her only family member left then I would be able to?

    Thanks,
    T
