I am new to islam and was wondering if dating was haram because me and this boy really like each other and he introduced me to his family and wants to marry me but as I haven't been in a relationship with him how am I meant to know he's the one and I'm making the right decision marrying him

Basically there are two quires. You want to know if this the right guy and if dating haram? So did you recently converted to islam? Any case dating is not haram. If you go out for dinners, spend time together. But having sex with someone without marrying the person is haram. I think you should take some more time to understand this guy. Spend time with him. Only you can tell if he's the right or wrong.
