    Condenser fan motor wiring
I have a carrier central air conditioning unit. I bought a replacement fan motor that is not the OEM motor. The new motor has an additional brown wire with a white stripe on it. I need to know what to do with that additional brown wire. Can someone help me?

Make sure the motor specifies a 5 mfd capacitor and that it is new. Some motors use other size capacitors and they have to be exact in size to about 5-10% of value. Also, you have a voltage rating on the capacitor which should be at least that specified or higher.
