Slope is a measure of the "steepness" of the line, and is calculated by dividing the change in the y-coordinates between two points on the line by the change in the x-coordinates. An easy way to remember this is "rise over run." I'll give you an example to illustrate, then you can apply this technique to your problem:

Suppose you are given two points on a line: A = (1,2) and B = (3,8). The change in y-coordinates (the "rise") is the y-coordinate of B minus the y-coordionate orf A, or 8-2 = 6. The change in x-coordinates ("run") is the x-coordinate of B minus the x-coordinate of A, or 3-1 = 2. Hence the slope is 6/2 = 3.
