My Amana laundry machine fills from both sides of inlet valve. I only want my cold water running. I had to install my laundry machine to one water supply. When I set it to cold the disconnected hose (hot water supply) runs as well. What can I do?

Remove the hot water hose and install a hose cap.

In addition to my previous question, I thank you very much for the rapid response.
Hose cap goes where the hot water hose attaches to washer.
I do thank you very much for the suggestion. However, If you have the time to explain why this is happening I would greatly appreciate it. I am somewhat confused because if the switch is set to cold I don't understand why the water would be flowing through the cold and hot side. Also, when I set the temp switch to the hot side only the water doesn't flow through the hose on the hot side. Mind you, I did hook the main water line to a water hose line outside my house. Meaning there is only one water line. I would greatly appreciate an explanation so I can have a better understanding.
Thanks again.
Water enter to the mixing valve first, then to the on/off valve. That way you have to have only one on/off valve. Otherwise you would have to have an on/off valve for cold and an on/off valve for hot.
The mixing valve expects to have an equal water pressure on each side. By not connecting the hot hose, you have no pressure on the hot side and the cold water pressure is over riding the balancing of the mixing valve. That allows water to come out the hot side.
