Cub cadet 582 engine re-ring blowing oil out breathers.
I have a 16hp briggs engine on a 1981 cub cadet 582 that we just put new rings, head gaskets, and both left and right breathers on and the engine is still blowing oil out of the breather into the air cleaner. That was the problem before but we figured it was the rings and tried that first and its still blowing oil from same side. The engine starts up and idles with no problem whatsoever except for the throttle taking a little more time then it should to adjust to where it needs to be in relation with the control. Almost as its sluggish but it runs very well. Also I noticed that it doesn't spit the oil when its only 1 quart of oil in engine. But the specs call for 1.75 quarts. ANY ideas are very welcome at this point I have very little hair left to pull out over this engine!

    Hi,
This an old cast iron Briggs? Check the sealing of the dipstick in its tube.
    Peace,
