My natural gas fireplace worked fine the first yr. [installed new] now it has bad fumes. I cleaned it good but fumes are still bad any advice? Signed perplexed

You really need to get the original installer back to check the system. You should not be getting any smell from the gas fireplace at all. This is certainly a health/safely issue and needs to be addressed before using the fireplace.

Have you had your chimney inspected? I'd start there
