My dog survived an accident and won't eat.
On Tuesday night my small schnauzer was hit in the head by a truck, he survived and is even standing and walking a bit before laying back down. I'm concerned about hit front feet, but right now he is not eating and only drinking water. My family started giving him some protein in water before we try to give him solids again. The only solid food he ate was vomited after 3 hours.

Has he been taken to the vet?

The vet that has helped us out said that he will come over next week to check up on him and take him in if necessary unless an emergency comes up in which case he told us we could just call him. It's almost time for the dog's shots which is why he said next week, for now we are keeping a close eye on him.

He won't survive until next week not eating. Vomiting will dehydrate him -- another death sentence. Please take him to the vet!

Is it normal for a dog to eat a little 2 days after an accident like that. My mother gave him some chicken the day after the accident, that's what he vomited. I give a bit of dog food before he went to sleep for tonight. He only vomited that one time.

Because he wasn't taken to a vet, no one knows. He could have something serious going on inside of him.

Today I noticed improvement, he started acting like he used to before the accident and I went to buy some canned dog food, to see if he would eat. He even liked my fingers after finishing the small portion I gave him. At night I'll give him more.

It's good that he's eating, but he really needs to be seen by a vet. I'm shocked that your vet has told you to wait a week before bringing the dog in. The dog was hit by a car, he could have internal injuries. I don't know of a single vet that would take this as casually as your vet seems to have taken it.
