CFL light in drive lamps legality?
My Home owner association ( North Virginia ) states all driveway lamps/bulbs must be clear. I want to use low energy CFL which are opaque white. I thought the US government want people to use low energy lights? Can my Home Owner legally tell me my bulbs MUST be clear?

    Thank you

Unfortunately yes they can. Just like they can dictate what color you can paint your house... and many other things.

Ever hear of the 10th Amendment? Unless interstate commerce is involved, the federal government has no business regulating HOAs in Virginia.

There is the rare case where they DID push through something over riding HOA's... and that was forcing them to accept the smaller digital satellite dishes.
