    Should I be worried?
This is my first pregnancy and I couldn't be more confused and worried. First of all, I had ALL of the pregnancy symptoms. Headache, tender breasts, nausea, missed period. I took 10 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. My husband was worried I had something wrong with me, so we went to the doctor and I had a blood test. Sure enough, I was pregnant and 5 weeks 4 days along. 1 week later, I had some pretty bad bleeding with 2 small clots (pea sized). The next day, my doctor had me in for an ultra sound. He saw a sack, but no fetus. He said it could be that I am pregnant, just not as far along as we thought and can't see the baby. He took my blood again to test hormone levels. My pregnancy hormone level is going up which I guess is good, but it isn't doubling like it should. Then today, I found some light brown discharge in my undies. Is this all normal? Am I over reacting, or should I really be concerned? My major concern is not seeing a fetus last week. What to do? Sit and wait like everyone says? It is so difficult. I would like to see if anyone has experienced anyting like this.

I did with my 2nd child; she was a twin. I had brown discharge and some light bleeding when I had the ultrasound, which showed one heartbeat and one sac (no fetus). The dr told me that if I carried both the babies to term that one or both could have health problems (down syndrome, etc).

That night, after the ultrasound, I started bleeding pretty bad. My husband rushed me to the er, where they told I would have to have a DNC. My ob/gyn talked to the er dr and came right over. Another ultrasound was done. I miscarried one baby, the one sac, and my daughter stuck it out. My daughter was later born a healthy baby at 34 weeks pregnant.

I did bleed some while I was pregnant with my 3rd child, but after the first trimester I had no more problems.

I don't want to scare you, but you may be facing a miscarriage. I wish I had more comforting words for you. I hope I am wrong! This may just be your body adapting to the change?

Good Luck and God Loves You!

I had some bleeding with my first pregnancy at 5 weeks. I had a scan and same as you, saw a sac but no baby. I was told I had miscarried and to go back 2 weeks later with an overnight bag to have the d and c carried out. 2 weeks later went back, had another scan and baby was fine.

    Good luck
