    A bit swollen
At the top of my belly button ring there's a poofy spot and its not sore or hurting me. Today when I showered as I washed it there was a lot more than usual off white stuff come out, I couldn't tell if it was puss or not. N it hasn't had any gross stuff come out in a week I'm not sure. Is it infected?

Yes, it sounds like it could be. Swelling is a sign of infection, but if it's not painful that's good.

    *IGNORE THIS*
Make sure you clean it very well with either rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. If you can rotate it/move it around every few hours and clean it, that would be good. If it's really bad you might also consider some topical antibacterial crème after you clean it.

    *DON'T IGNORE THIS:*
If you get a fever, muscle aches, a rash, or the swelling doesn't go down in the next few days I would highly recommend seeing a doctor as the infection can spread causing more damage than just your bellybutton.

Don't use peroxide, rubbing alcohol, or topical antibacterial. When you clean it in the shower, let water run over the site, do not use soap or the facecloth you have used for other body parts. Do not try, at this point to move the ring, that will only irritate it.

Start rinsing the area with a warm salt water solution. You say it is not sore, that is good. After rinsing with the salt water solution, the swelling should start to go down in a couple of days.

Never mind, ignore me and do what Tickle said!

We always used peroxide and alcohol, but apparently it slows down the healing process- but if it's infected the important thing is to get rid of the infection. You learn something new everyday!

Check this out though --> How to Clean a Body Piercing: 11 Steps - wikiHow

Also, forgot to add. Don't take it out, until you're sure there's no infection. The piercing helps the puss and stuff drain and without the piercing it can cause a fat abscess.

The little bump is still there n I went to the doctor
Ok so I thank those for helping me w/my previous question. This regards the same thing. There is a bump at the upper side of the piercing of my belly ring still. Its been maybe 3 days It's a little itchy now, I went to my doctor today and she poked it/felt it, -that's it. She said its not infected that it might just be extra tissue trying to heal itself or something like that. She said because there was no discharge coming from it and no redness which are signs of infection. I'm concerned and irritated. Why is this squishy little bump there? I don't want a last minute problem thinking its just healing itself differently.
