Water is coming up from the ground when washing clothes
I dug around they area where water is coming up form
The ground. I found a PVC pipe from the laundry going into what appears to be a holding tank. The pipe does not appear cracked. Do you think it is just full or is there a problem with the tank. This tank is not the septic. What Is it used for.

Did you run washer and observe the pipe and connection to tank?

If used only for washer, it may be a dry well. This would accept water through top or near top and release water into ground from the lower parts. Over the years, sediment can fill tank and make it not work properly. Would have to install a new one at another location or hook up to septic.

What you describe is a grease trap, (see image). They are installed on washer and kitchen drains to catch the lint and grease/garbage before it clogs your filter bed. The grease trap's full. Clean it about. Good luck, Tom
