    Emancipation.
    How can you describe to the judge that you have your own place to live if you are under aged and no one will lease to you? I have my 15th birthday coming up on May 1st and I already have a work permit and have been applying everywhere that will hire with a work permit. I have been living away from home since I was in 6th grade and no longer require emotional help and soon will not need physical help. If someone could get back to me with a relevant answer as soon as possible, I would be greatly obliged.

    Can you get someone to write a letter to the effect that, should you become emancipated and thus legally capable of being obligated by the terms of a lease, they would be happy to give you a lease.

    But if you do not yet have a job, how can you be sure that you can make the lease payments?

    I'm going to be going to an alternative school next school year and they will work with me on a school schedule that will form around a full time job. Do you mean like a parent that can sign something like that? I don't quite understand what you mean, sorry.

    Did you ask somebody to lease to you and they refused? Did they give a reason? Those people are the ones I mean.

    What state are you in? There are child labor laws that have to be met and you might not be able to work full time.

    There are many jobs you can't do because of your age.

    I haven't asked yet, no. I live in Oklahoma. Would it work if I was a roommate with my sister? She's 18.

    Not really. In order for you to be emancipated the courts look for you to have a track record already established. About a years time completely on your own. Without help.

    You don't have very much as far as work opportunity to be able to rent and get food. Your State has very strict rules.
