Will I be okay for the EtG?
I drank about 6 shots last Wednesday night, roughly 10:00 pm, and had an EtG scan today (wednesday) at 1:30 pm. I did little exercise and drank water like I normally would. Will I be okay?

What if I had been drinking the previous nights as well?

The EtG tests for byproducts that are created when your body processes alcohol, and these byproducts last about 40 hours after you stop drinking. If you drank less than three days before the test you could test positive.

The broader concern is why you were being tested. If you are ordered to test for criminal or child custody reasons, you should rethink your drinking. Six shots is too much for anyone in any situation - really excessive. If you knew you had the test coming up, that's something more to consider - I mean, if you want the drink enough to take a risk of failing, you need to seriously think about why you would risk anything of importance to yourself for a night of drinking.

Sometimes these tests are requested of people who are applying for jobs. If you are looking for a job, you really should not ever drink if you are under age. If you are of age, you should max out at two drinks - meaning two ounces of standard proof hard alcohol, or two 12 oz. beers or two 6 oz. glasses of wine - in a 24 hour period. When testing for employment purposes, they normally have a margin of error which tolerates moderate adult consumption.
