Could I be pregnant if I'm having my period still?
OK, I had sex in November and I was due on around the same time but I was on the pill. However I didn't always take it around the same time everyday and we didn't always use condoms and when it come to finishing my monthly amount of the pill for the 7 day gap I didn't come on, because I hadn't come on I didn't start taking the pill till I restarted my period which was 2 weeks late! Ever since I've had a period but they've been a lot lighter and a lot shorter and not always on time. I've put on weight and in the beginning I did feel really sick in the morning and even now I have time when I feel really sick for no explained reason. Could I be pregnant??

Please help me I'm on 16 and I'm really confused!

Pregnant women don't have periods. A small amount get pregnancy bleeding, which very rarely can be mistaken for a period, but its not the same thing. The pill can affect the length and flow of your period, it can also stop your periods entirely (I have only been on the pill for two months and no longer have periods yay!) You could take a test, if you were pregnant it would show up by now.

I was very inconsistent with taking my pills when I was younger - plus they couldn't agree which one to give me. I continued to have my periods and then one day the just stopped. When I went to the doctor - I found out I was 3 1/2 months pregnant. So, yes - you can still be pregnant and have your period. With my second child - I was on my period till I was about 4 months along!!

When you have a period you shed the lining for the womb, if you do this while pregnant you would miscarry the baby as that is where the embryo implants. Pregnancy bleeding is not a period, and no pregnant woman should be advised that bleeding during pregnancy is normal or safe unless their dr says so.
