Need help in starting, Scott lawn mower 42589X9. Need help in what to do, the batt. Is up and the start is getting power. Not sure what knob or peddle to hold down?

Your Scotts was made by the Noma division of Murray. Most commonly failed are the fuse, solenoid and key switch. Often there is a panel in front of the seating area beneath the steering column held on by two Phillips screws that will reveal both the fuse and the solenoid.
