I'm on a well and the control panel on the well went out. Had it repaired and all was fine. The repair guy asked me to test the water in the house. Turned on the faucet at 1 sink in my master bath. Worked great. Repair guy leaves and as I turned on the shower in the master bath, just a faint trickle of water came out. Turned on the same sink that had just worked fine, and the same thing happened, just a trickle. Called the repair guy back and he asked me to test another sink. I tested the other sink in the master bath and it worked fine. What could be causing the lack of pressure in the 2 appliances? I tried turning the water on in the other sinks in the house and then the 2 non-working faucets. I let them run for a few minutes to see if it would clear the line, but it didn't work. What else can I try? What could be the cause?

Could be that you got a surge of "crud" through the lines as a result of the well starting back up. Clogs up small things like aerators in faucets and shower heads. Try removing the aerator from the sink faucet and see what kind of flow you get then. If it's good, then you have found your problem. Clean the aerator and the shower head.

I agree with jlis. Sounds like a plugged up aerator on the sink, and plugged shower head at the shower. I do wonder why when you called the plumber back, he couldn't find the problem? Oh, you said "repair guy". Was it a plumber or a handy man? Either way, I suggest trying a new plumber or repair guy, somebody that will actually come back and stand behind there work.

I changed out the shower head and nothing, still the same. I will try the aerator in the sink when I get home.

The guy who came out wasn't a plumber, he was a well repair man. He worked on the well and pump. I was trying to avoid getting plumber involved. Thanks for answering though.

Shower head didn't fix it huh? Ugh! Next step there is to remove the shower cartridge/s and clean them and flush the valve body while you have the cartridge/s out. Should solve that issue. Hope the aerator cures the sink, but if not, you will have to do the same thing with that. Good luck and please let us know how things work out.

I can't say I blame the well guy for not going in the house and checking things out. Not really in his/her job description I guess. Pretty much just there to get water to the house/pressure tank. Homeowner or plumbers job after that.
