    verifying that cot x (tan x) = 1
The answer is the process in which one goes through to verify that this statement is true! Pre-cal help! Due tomorrow. Thank you!

You should be aware that tan(x) is defined as sin(x)/cos(x), and that cot(x) is defined as cos(x)/sin(x). Given these definitions, can you take it from here? Note that since dividing by 0 leads to an undefined result neither sin(x) nor cos(x) can equal 0, which means the identity fails at values of x = 0, pi/2, pi, etc.
