When I do some exercise involving opening my groin, I often feel a little pop, and then an inconsistent sharp pain in the area. Is it a common/non-serious pain, or should I get it looked into?

How do you open your groin?
Doing things like lunges and touching the ground at the end of a sprint shuttle, sorry I should have made that clearer.
