G-4 dependent visa and 1040NR form
    Hi,
I worked as a freelance in 2012 and received the form 1099-MISC. I have some questions on how to fill out the 1040NR form:
    • Where on the 1040NR form do I add the amount listed on the field 7 of the 1099-MISC?
    • I also had some expenses related to my work and I am quite sure that I can list those items. I actually have more than one item. Where do I list and how do I list?
    • On the Schedule OI of the 1040NR do i need to list the dates on the "H" item? From the publication 519 I understood that G-4 visa holders days do not count. That means I can type "-0-"?
    • Also, what do I do with the taxable income value of the form 1040NR (Line 41)? The amount is calculated but it is not included in any of the following formulas.

    Thanks in advance,

The Form 1099-MISC is reported on Schedule C, and the resulting self-employment tax is calculated on Schedule SE.
