    Dear Doctor,

    My wife is pregnant one month over she is seek now if she take paracetamol it is badly effect her pregnancy? Please advise.

    2010 studies shows it can have a negative effect on the unborn child. It was used by pregnant women before that, but many have stopped using after release of current studies.

    Paracetamol is perfectly fine. It is the US equivalent of Tylenol.

    But Fr. Chuck's advise was incorrect. Paracetamol is perfectly fine to take during pregnancy.

    A 2012 paper says it's safe, and they teach us in med school that it's safe too. So I think it's fine.

    I prescribe it for my patients on a routine basis.
